you know Dave, I was laughing at some of the things you wrote but you make a very good point. As a 'young person' I've noticed this in myself, enthusiasm-a-plenty but not much know-how to back it up.
here's an idea: we need to combine the two. i.e. bringing aged people and not so aged people together. combining the best of both worlds, so to speak

Why is the old experienced person interviewing the young culture-indoctrinated person? The young people are always excited and invested in things they have just learned. Been there, done that.

What I object to is the lack of respect for knowledge learned over years versus the good looking young peoples' enthusiasm. Originally we are all like puppies and babies and young,supple women -- desirable. That is what evolution has programmed in us. But do we want to get beyond that?

Just a question - maybe we don't get beyond that.

I am 60 and have had 3 children by midwives at home, local shoemakers, and what Jenny refers to, people locally who plant flowers in the medians on the streets.

How do I invite you? that is so condescending to those of us who preceded her, I just want to go out and buy gasoline and pour it on the ground. We will be dead before long and why shouldnt these arrogant people die too?
