I was excited when I first heard about the movie. I did not go to the movie partly based on your first review. I felt the movie would probably be repetative to the informed. (or at least to those who have already been exposed to the concepts). I thi…

Myron added a blog post
In my last post (it's been awhile, I'll come back to that), I talked about the new food and farm industry documentary "Food Inc.". I felt that it was a downer movie, not particularly original, and only really offered solutions as an afterthought...…

The SOAR Blog: "Food, Inc." Part 2

In my last post (it's been awhile, I'll come back to that), I talked about the new food and farm industry documentary "Food Inc.". I felt that it was a downer movie, not particularly original, and only really offered solutions as an afterthought... For my personal context, that's still a fair assessment. But I've come to reconsider it's value to the broader public.

Producer's Robert Kenner and Eric Schlosser intended to 'lift the veil' on the incorporation -the industrialization and politizatio… Continue

The SOAR Blog: "Food, Inc."

After a harrowing weekend of planting basil I planned to review another book title tonight. I've been developing my pesto business with Suean and our friend, Casey Stechnij, of Superstition Farm, who surprised me this morning by inviting us to attend the premier of "Food, Inc" in Scottsdale. It had been a long day -- Suean was in the ER with leg pain, so I've bee… Continue
