Roasted Chicken in a Solar Oven

A few weeks ago, I tried my "luck" at roasting a chicken in my sun oven and to my great joy - it was the moistest chicken ever. Sun cooking maintains all the natural juices and what else is so awesome is that I use all that great juice/stock/broth to make the best ever chicken soup.

I'm thoroughly enjoying harvesting the sun and it's natural energies and I just checked on my electric usage and I'm down for the month. YEAH! Double dipping benefits. Hmmm...what else will I cook?

Uprooting Tension in My Garden

I have two tensions in my love of gardening. One tension is that when the season changes and I need to uproot or trim back all the plants that are no longer useful or that have turned bitter because this isn't their season - I just don't want to do it.

Lylah - My biggest suggestion (and my mom's) is to cook it til there is no foamy stuff left on top.

Oh thanks, it's been pretty a pretty cool experience so far. Are you new to this community? Eventually I will be doing some kind of little class for people that want to learn how to build will with straw bale, and earthen plasters. we are still learning too but it would probably be a lot of fun.
