I have a friend in upstate New York that puts a brown paper bag on the hood of her car (when the sun is out) and puts herbs and wild mushrooms out to dry. She has great success.

Hello Leslie!
It was great meeting you Sunday, any time you would like to come by and take a look at what we are doing in our yard just send me a message. Our chickens love to show off in front of company ;) Your neighbor to the south, Ericka

Leslie,
The biggest item we are missing at this time of year is sunlight. The days are about 9 hours long and this slows down everything growing. Also the soil temperature, even inside of the greenhouse may not be very high. The last items I planted took almost an extra week to sprout, radishes and I did not get a very good germination. Was old seed so that could have been part of it.
If you keep having a problem, you might consider starting them inside where it is warmer. Let me know I am happy to help when I can.

Hi Leslie:

We can always use more event organizers and in fact need an outreach event coordinator.

If you're interested, please email me at Jennifer@AZHomegrownSolutions.org

Thanks,
Jen

By all means get a themometer for your greenhouse. The temperature in a greenhouse is really tied into what plants you are growing inside of it. So it is important to know something about what you are growing. Lettuce needs one environment, orchids need another.
Using a greenhouse really opens up what a person can grow.

Portable greenhouses work fine. Just need to be aware of the temp inside as in the Phoenix area getting too hot inside is the biggest issue.
