I am in the process of organizing an Arizona organization,
dedicated to rallying Native American youth towards active participation in their communities. I am a member of the Navajo Nation tribe and our environment is one of the main issues we view as top priority. About learning, I would like to connect and increase my knowledge in all that AZHomegrownSolutions has to share. Community and unity is my passion and I believe AZHomegrownSolutions is committed to that.
What skills and resources do you bring to this group?
I am a proactive and passionate person. Obviously I'm here because of my love for the environment. It would be great to connect our Native American youth with AZHomegrownSolutions, to expand the beautiful efforts of going green!

We would love to get more youth involved with the kinds of projects we do. We often have larger projects (tree plantings, community garden or urban orchard setups, water harvesting) that we need a group of volunteers for - is this something that would interest you and your group? It's kind of a learning experience and a celebration of the project all at once.
Hi Candice and welcome to AZHS! I agree with what you've outlined above and it would be WONDERFUL to have someone engage with Native American youth and environmental issues. We are definitely committed to community and support the emergence of each community on its own terms simply because it leads to great self-expression, identity and diversity of ideas and viewpoints. Please let us know your thoughts on how we might move forward together.
